Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full or part time with 1 in 3 Saturdays from 8am to 1:30pm. There are will be no OOH or on-call duties.

The role

  • The role will involve a mixture of consultations, medical work ups and surgeries
  • The practice can accommodation any bias whether it be surgical or medical.
  • The role is ideal for a passionate Vet who is looking for somewhere that they can expand their knowledge and work in a supportive environment
  • The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.
  • They can accommodate full or part time applications

About them:

  • Established small animal and Equine Practice
  • 2 Site practice
  • The role is based in their small animal practice.
  • They are based in Hampton on the outskirts of Peterborough which now boasts 6 villages
  • Busy practice offering a varied and interesting case load
  • They are able to offer a wide variety of modern veterinary services and offer facilities to treat exotics, breeding, geriatric care, laboratory diagnostics, ultrasound, x-ray, orthopaedics and more.
  • They outsource OOH.
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.
  • They encourage Vets to establish strong working relationships with clients therefore they strongly believe in case continuity where possible.
  • They can support areas of special interest which they also believe will benefit the services within the practice.

  • They are a supportive team of nurses who are all focused on best practice and also preventative health care and collectively share ideas and knowledge with each other and educate the community.
  • They understand the importance of development and support and encourage clinical interests
  • They understand the importance of a happy team and mental health and wellbeing and regularly have case / team discussions
  • They understand the difficulties that the vet industry can face, and they ensure that each member of staff support each other and strive each day to provide a positive and encouraging work environment

About you

  • The practice can support various levels of experience - whether they applicant is a new graduate or a more experienced Vet.
  • The Vet will have good time management skills
  • They will be a team player, with good interpersonal skills and be able to establish strong working relationships.
  • The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills.
  • The Vet will always maintain a high standard of clinical care

Package

  • Salary: Up to £63,000 pro rata, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leae, increasing with service and birthday off
  • CPD: Generous allowance of £1,250 with 5 days to attend
  • Memberships: RCVS, VDS and BVA fees paid
