We are recruiting small animal veterinary surgeon to join an independent practice in Newcastle on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a Vet who either has a Surgical certificate or someone who is studying towards a certificate.

This is either a full or part time role.

Who are they looking for:

The role is full time working 5 days per week with the option to reduce to a 4-day week after 1 year. Part time hours are negotiable but ideally, they would require at least 2 full days per week and weekend cover. The weekend cover is 1 full weekend on call every 6 weeks and after a full weekend worked there is no on call the following week and either the Friday or the Monday would be off in lieu offering a long weekend. there is a 1:3 Saturday morning rota which one of these would be part of the full 1:6 weekend cover. There is a 1 night per week on call which is supported via another Vet. Bank holiday cover rota is equally shared.

There are various packages available depending on the candidate and car, fuel and accommodation can be provided as part of a relocation package. Salary is dependent on experience and is reviewed after 6 months in completion of probationary period.

The practice is looking for a Vet who either has a Surgical certificate or currently studying towards one.

Key Details:

• Type: Small Animal Vets
• Hours Mon-Fri: Between 8:00am & 7:00pm each day (40 hours per week if full time)
• Weekends: 1 full weekend in 6 and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings. Full weekends will be on call with long weekend the follow week
• OOH: 1 night on call a week (with another vet), as well as the weekend rota

About You:

You will be a qualified veterinary surgeon with a desire to work with a forward thinking, fast paced veterinary practice. You will have a Surgical certificate or currently studying towards one. You must have a real passion for the industry and strive to provide the highest standards of care. Excellent customer service skills are also essential.

Driving license is essential.

Package:

• Salary: 35,000- 55,000 depending on experience
