Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Newcastle-under-Lyme for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 4 days per week with 2 in 7 Saturdays mornings. The vets will work 1 day per week at another branch to get to know the wider team and share knowledge. Part time hours can be considered. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

  • Computer system: Merlin
  • Consultations: 15 minutes
  • Team: 5 vets, 4 nurses and a supportive non-clinical team

The role

  • You will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service
  • You will be responsible for ensuring there is excellent communication between themselves, the team and clients
  • You will work at a branch practice once a week to get to know the wider team and share knowledge

About them:

  • They have a varied caseload which allows the team to develop their clinical skills
  • They have many services and facilities available to use, including dentistry, x-ray, anaesthesia, orthopaedics, microchipping, neutering, home visits, keyhole surgery, nurse clinics and vaccinations
  • They have vets who hold certificates in medicine, along with vets and nurses who are studying towards certificates

  • The team work together to support one another to achieve goals and continue to develop their clinical knowledge

About you:

  • The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude
  • You will be able to build rapport and strong client relationships

Package

  • Salary: £40,000 to £60,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
