Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon or soon to be?
  • Are you looking for a role with no Sundays or OOH?

Due to continual growth, we are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Middlesbrough for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full or part time with Saturdays on a rota. The practice appreciates the importance of a work-life balance so they can provide hours which suit the vet if they need to work around other commitments, such as childcare. There are no Sunday requirements or OOH work.

The Vet would be joining a team of 2 vets, 3 RVNs, 2 SVNs and a supportive non-clinical team. They very have a family feel culture and are all down to earth and are committed to providing a high standard of care. They deal with a wide variety of cases and the role offers the Vet the opportunity to establish their own client base. They have lead vets which have special interests in exotic medicine and soft tissue surgery.

  • You will have good general medical and surgical skills
  • You will be confident in some sole charge work when required
  • You will have an approachable, empathetic, and caring attitude
  • You will be passionate about all aspects of your veterinary work
  • You will be happy to share knowledge and mentor others where required
  • You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player
  • Ambition to pursue an area of special interest would be supported

Package

  • Salary: £35,000 to £65,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 5.6 weeks annual leave, increasing to 6.6 weeks
