Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Great Dunmow Essex for a Permanent full time Veterinary Surgeon to join their team.

The position offers a 4 day working week from 9am - 6.30pm with one early finish per week. There is no OOH requirement or on call but there is shared weekend rota which is a maximum of 1:5 Saturday and Sunday mornings. The practice can be flexible on working hours as they can appreciate sometimes there are childcare commitments.

The Vet would be joining a team of 6 Vets. The practice ensures they have long term relationships with their clients and ensure that they provide case continuity to clients which encourages stronger bonds. This allows a Vet to see cases right through.

The practice also have visiting specialists that come to the practice for medicine, imaging, cardiology and ophthalmology cases which means that they can provide in house referrals.

We are lucky to have long standing clients and excellent case continuity enabling strong bonds to be made and cases to be followed through by one vet. Visiting medicine, imaging, cardiology and ophthalmology specialists are regularly at our clinic making in house referrals possible.

About you:

  • You will be competent in routine surgeries - dependent on experience support available
  • The role is determined on years of experience and be catered to suit but ultimately the Vet needs to be ambitious looking to develop clinical skills and knowledge further and work towards a certificate
  • You will always deliver a high standard of clinical care
  • You will have excellent customer facing skills and enjoy establishing and building your own client base
  • You will work well within the team alongside other veterinary specialists and clinicians
  • You will be a passionate and motivated veterinary surgeon with a genuine interest for animal welfare
  • You will be ambitious to develop your clinical skill set and knowledge
  • You will enjoy working within a busy practice with a wide variety of cases
