Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Barnoldswick, Lancashire

We are recruiting a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join an established mixed practice in a beautiful location in East Lancashire.

The practice is open to varying levels of experience from applicants, they have two Vet GDP advisors available for new graduates.

This role is full time with rota's published 8 weeks in advance so you can make personal plans with ease.

The practice runs their own OOH service for their clients, they understand how this can impact on Vets so keep their OOH rota to a minimum and always have the following 24 hours off after being on-call. Accommodation is available for use during OOH or on-call if preferred. The weekend OOH rota is 1.5 in 8 weekends being on call Friday, working Saturday morning and on-call on Sunday, plus 1 night every 2 weeks, you will always have Monday and Tuesday off in leiu following a weekend as well as 6 weekends off.

Who are they looking for:

The Vet will have good client care skills and be patient care focused. They will be focused in working their cases up to a high standard and work well alongside a large team of experienced Vets. The team boasts certificate holding surgeons which offer ample opportunities to learn from thus developing the Vets clinical skills and knowledge.

About you:

  • You will have strong client and patient care skills
  • For more experienced vets you will have a strong interest in teaching / mentoring others
  • You will lead by example
  • You must be a genuine team player, supporting other staff members where appropriate and contributing to the OOH rota for the benefit of clients and their pets
  • You will have career development aspirations
  • You must have excellent customer facing skills, empathy, work well with us and a genuine passion for animal welfare.

Package:

  • Salary: £34,000 to £55,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
