Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Barnet, Hertfordshire

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon?
  • Are you looking for a new opportunity in Hertfordshire?

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Barnet, Hertfordshire for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 4 days per week, along with 1 in 4 Saturdays. Part time hours can be considered. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

The role

  • The role will involve working across the branch surgeries and sometimes in the main hospital. All branches are within a 20 minute drive of each other.
  • The role is a mixture of surgeries and consultations.
  • Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work / life balance. EG Rota to work around the school run / holidays /lifestyle.
  • The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
  • The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.

About them:

  • Hospital with 5 branch sites across the area.
  • They are fully equipped with facilities including a Dental X-Ray, Ultrasound, in house laboratory, digital x-ray and endoscopy. They are able to carter for a variety of surgeries including orthopaedics.
  • They have a large veterinary team spread over all sites with some certificate holding surgeons.
  • The role offers a fat paced learning environment with plenty of support available for growth and development.
  • They support personal development with a generous CPD allowance and encourage and support certificates and additional training.
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

  • The team work together to support one another and enable each other to achieve goals and continue to develop their clinical skills and knowledge.
  • They understand the difficulties that the vet industry can face, and they ensure that each member of staff support each other and strive each day to provide a positive and encouraging work environment.

About you

  • The practice are able to support various levels of experience but the Vet would be committed at practising good medicine.
  • The Vet will be a team player.
  • The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills.
  • The Vet will be able to organise their own time well and remain calm under pressure.

Package

  • Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, increasing with service and birthday off
  • CPD: Generous allowance of £1,200 with 3 days to attend
  • Memberships: RCVS, VDS and BVA fees paid
