Job description

We are recruiting for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a small animal practice in Ashton - Under Lyne Manchester

This is a full-time position with a weekend on a rota and no OOH. After working a weekend, the Vet will receive 3.5 days off - so a long weekend back. The practice understands the important of a good work / life balance.

The practice is located close to Manchester City Centre and all major transport links. This is an established busy practice with a large loyal client base. They see a wide variety of cases and provided a range of modern veterinary services and facilities with state-of-the-art equipment.

About the role

The practice offers clinical freedom for personal growth and development and encourage the Vet to work up cases from start to finish. The Veterinary Surgeon would have good surgical and diagnostic skills and will be ambitious to develop these further. Support and funding for a certificate is available for the right candidate. The Vet would be working with a team of 2 Vets along with experienced RVNS and support staff.

There is a competitive package available with salary commensurate to experience.

  • Hours: Monday - Friday Full time between 9am - 7pm
  • Weekends: Yes on a rota Saturday 9am - 5pm Sunday 10.30am - 4.30pm

  • Consultations: 10 Minutes
  • Team: 2 Vet 3 RVN, 1 SVN and support team

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be confident in all areas of routine surgeries and medical cases
  • You will want to contribute to the practice enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player
