Job description

We have an exciting new opportunity for an Orthopaedic Veterinary Surgeon to join a 24hr animal hospital in Enfield London. The position is full time with a 4-day rota and a 1:3 Saturday or Sunday and then a 1:6 full weekend. There is also 2-3 weeks per year on call which is part of the shared regional rota.

This position offers an excellent opportunity not only for the Vet to utilise their current orthopaedic skills but also the opportunity to learn new techniques and develop their skills further.

The Hospital is a hub for 13 branches across the wider area, so it sees a wide variety of both routine and complex cases. They see cases including cruciate repairs, fracture repairs, complex lump removals, and wound management.

The practice is looking for a confident Orthopaedic Vet and someone who is experienced with TPLO surgery.

  • About you
  • You will be an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon
  • You will have experience in TPLO surgey
  • You will ideally have a bias or area of specialism that you would like to pursue
  • You will be comfortable with routine orthopaedic surgeries and consultations
  • You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic Surgeon.
  • An interest in pursuing a certificate would be supported and encouraged
  • You will be ambitious, driven, and forward-thinking Veterinary Surgeon
  • You will set a positive working environment and lead by example
  • You will enjoy mentoring and coaching others and sharing knowledge and experience
  • You will have a calming approach when dealing with a busy practice environment
  • You will be passionate and dedicated to providing excellent clinical care

Package:

  • Salary: Commensurate to experience pro rata
  • Holiday allowance: 5 weeks plus bank holidays pro rata
