Permanent New Graduate Mixed Veterinary Surgeon - Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Tyne and Wear

We are recruiting for a Permanent New Graduate Mixed Veterinary Surgeons to join an independent practice in Newcastle. They require a mixed animal vet to join their large, supportive team working a mixture of 80% small, 10% equine and 10% farm work mix.

This role is full time for 4 days per week, along with 1 in 6 weekends on-call and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings. One of these Saturday mornings will be part of the full weekend on-call. There will also be 1 night on-call per week. For every full weekend worked, there will be no night on-call the following week and a Friday or Monday off to make a long weekend. The bank holiday cover rota is equally shared.

Key details:

• Type: Mixed animal
• Hours: Full time, 4 days per week, shifts between 8am to 7pm
• Weekends: 1 in 6 full weekends on-call and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings
• OOH: 1 night on-call a week (with another vet), as well as the weekend rota
• Sole charge: None

A 100-year established group of practices who provide 24hr emergency care to the local area and beyond. Each practice is equipped with a range of modern facilities that include a full range of diagnostic equipment, in house laboratories, hospital facilities and much more.

About you:

You will be a qualified veterinary surgeon with a desire to work with a forward thinking, fast paced veterinary practice. You must have a real passion for the industry and strive to provide the highest standards of care. Excellent customer service skills are also essential.

The role is open to all qualified veterinary surgeons who are registered with the RCVS, and the practice is open to various levels of experience. New graduates apply and can be supported fully. For more experienced Vets ideally you will have a couple of years' experience to be able to hit the ground running. Driving license is essential.

Package:

• Salary: From £34,500 per annum, commensurate to experience

• Salary starts at £39,000 for a 5-day week
• Annual salary reviews after initial 6-month successful probationary period review
