Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Paulton, Somerset

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon?
  • Are you looking for a new opportunity close to Bath?

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Paulton, Somerset for a Permanent Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full or part time for 3 to 5 days per week with shifts of 9.5 hours, along with 1 in 4 Saturdays from 8:30am to 12:30pm.

  • Type: Small animal
  • Hours: Full or part time, 3 to 5 days per week, shifts of 9.5 hours
  • Weekends: 1 in 4 Saturdays
  • OOH: None
  • On call: None
  • Computer system: Merlin
  • Consultations: 20 minutes
  • Team: 4 vets, 4 RVNs, 4 SVNs and a supportive non-clinical team

The role

  • The role involves all aspects of vet duties including diagnostics, consultations and surgeries
  • You must have the confidence to lead a team and manage a practice
  • Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work-life balance
  • The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service
  • The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients

  • Established two site practice located close to Bath and Bristol
  • Modern purpose built building
  • The practice is fully equipped offering a wide range of diagnostics and veterinary services including an in house lab, ultrasound, dental and digital x-ray
  • They have a team of 4 vets, 4 RVNs, 4 SVNs and a supportive non-clinical team
  • They have a great local reputation and pride themselves on the communication in terms of client care that they provide
  • They provide a support work environment and encourage team members to pursue areas of special interest
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients

About you:

  • The vet will be confident in routine surgeries and consultations
  • The Vet will be a team player, with good interpersonal skills and be able to establish strong working relationships
  • The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills
  • The Vet will be able to organise their own time well and remain calm under pressure

Package:

  • Salary: Up to £75,000 pro rata, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave plus birthday off
