Job description

We are recruiting for a permanent Head Veterinary Surgeon / Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Norwich.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week with a 1:4 weekend rota. There is no OOH however there is a small element of occasional sole charge.

This is an established busy practice with state-of-the-art facilities offering a wide variety of modern veterinary service and facilities. It has all the toys as one would expect from Ultrasound, In house laboratory, orthopaedic kit, endoscopy and digital X-Ray. They see a variety of small animal cases within their team of 5 Vets, 3 Nurses, 3 SVNs and a support team. The practice are dedicated and proud to deliver a high standard of Veterinary Care.

About the role

The practice are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with a minimum of 1 years' experience and someone who is happy with the occasional required sole charge. There also maybe a requirement to cover a shift if sickness occurs which is from 7pm - 1pm and will be at the other branch. They will support areas of special interest so clinical development is encouraged. The Vet must have strong customer service and communication skills and be able to work well as part of a team. They must have a friendly and approachable attitude.

About You:

  • You will be happy to cover the twilight shift at another branch to cover sickness / annual leave
  • You will be happy with occasional sole charge work
  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will have an approachable and caring attitude
  • You will want to contribute to the practice enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player
