Job description

We are working alongside a fantastic RCVS accredited first opinion small animal practice based near Horsham in West Sussex who require a Clinical Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time, permanent basis. The practice is extremely well established with a loyal client base in the area, as well as working collaboratively with animal welfare and wildlife charities.

The practice has a great team of vets and nurses, with a variety of interests and experience levels. The successful candidate should have at least 4 years of experience working in small animal practice and will be confident enough to work sole charge when required.

This position is suited to a confident and experience vet looking for clinical freedom, with established leadership skills. The successful candidate will enjoy being based in rural West Sussex making the most of what the market town of Horsham and its surrounding countryside has to offer, whilst being based a train journey away from the Capital with national and international transport links.

Key Details:

  • Role: Permanent Veterinary Surgeon
  • Type: Small Animal
  • Hours: Full-time
  • Weekdays: Shifts between 8am and 7pm 40 hour week
  • Weekends: 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 8am to 1pm
  • OOHs: None required
  • Branch work: Occasional
  • Sole Charge: Branch and weekends
  • Team: 4 Vets and 8 RVNs plus support staff

Package:

  • Salary commensurate with experience starting from 50,000
  • CPD allowance of 1500 negotiable
  • 5 weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays
  • VDS covered
  • Further study supported and encouraged

Must haves:

  • RCVS registered and qualified
  • 4 years of postgraduate experience working in practice
  • Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
  • Valid UK driving license
