Please note that there are many practices out there that may not be passively looking to hire, but they are generally open to speaking with the right candidates with the intention to create a suitable position.

Can I register with more than one agency?

Yes, as many as you like, though you may want to choose one or two who solely specialize in the veterinary market. Many of our candidates register exclusively with us, but the choice is yours

What compliance do we ask for?

Prior to you commencing a new role, we will ask you to provide the following:

ID: Digital ID check – We send you a link for this – vert simple to complete

Proof of National Insurance: N.I Card, P45, P60 or HMRC Tax Letter

Certificates: Copy of your RCVS certificate and any other supporting documents

References: Written references (preferably two)

Skills Matrix: To show your veterinary skills / competencies.

Other details: Such as your full name, full address, date of birth, next of kin, but not limited to etc.

RTW: Right to Work Checks / documents / Share Codes

Skillset/Experience

  • Vet Seekers works with all levels of experience and skills sets, we will run through everything with you to make sure that locum life is going to be right for you, as believe it or not it isn't for many working in the profession.
  • RCVS Registered too soon to be, then we can assist.

Salaries:

These are just a benchmark:

Veterinary surgeons (permanent) – newly qualified can expect a salary starting from around £32,000 to £38,000 per annum, usually rising dependent on experience up to around £50,000 to £70,000+. Out of hours (OOH) positions can rise to around £70,000+ dependent on experience and hours.

Specialist roles can rise even further 100k+

Veterinary nurses (permanent) – newly qualified onwards can expect a salary starting from around £25,000 to £35,000 per annum. Again, the salary would rise with experience.

A head nurse's salary would be expected to be between around £33,000 to £40,000 per annum.

Please note: Salaries for both vets and nurses can be influenced by location of the practice, rota or hours in the contract and any specific roles and responsibilities expected from the position.
