Job description

We are recruiting two permanent Veterinary Surgeons to join a small animal practice in Hemsworth Pontefract. This are two full time positions with a 1:2 weekend rota. The weekend is a Saturday only and there are no Sundays or ooh.

This is a friendly and supporting team comprising of 1 Vet, 2 RVN and support team. the practice is full equipped with diagnostic equipment and includes a pharmacy, digital X-RAY and ultrasound.

The practice is recruiting two Vets to join their team. They required one experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is keen to progress into a lead Vet role and the other surgeon will ideally be a Vet who has a keen interest in emergency surgery and is confident in sole charge work.

The practice pride themselves on providing a high standard of clinical care and are a PSS accredited. They are a relatively young practice however are a forward-thinking practice and are always looking at ideas of progressing and growing the practice.

About both roles

Both Veterinary Surgeons needs to be confident in routine surgeries and consultations and enjoy a variety of cases. For the lead vet role, they must have extensive surgical experienced and be comfortable working both by themselves and with others in a training and mentoring capacity.

About You:

  • You will be an experienced Surgeon looking to move into a Lead Vet role and enjoy training and mentoring others
  • You will have experience with emergency and critical care work
  • You will have extensive surgical skills - Lead Vet only
  • You will be confident in routine surgeries and consultations.
  • You will be happy with some sole charge work
  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will have an approachable and caring attitude
  • You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will want to contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player

Package:

  • Salary: 35,000 - 50,000 pro rata
