Job description

We are recruiting a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a practice in Taunton Somerset for a fixed term contract to cover a Maternity leave. This will start in the summer of 2021. This is a part time role working 25 hours per week with a 1:3 weekend rota. There is some sole charge work involved which would be from 5.30pm - 7pm. There is no ooh.

The Nurse would be joining a team of 4 Vets, 3 Nurses and 1 ACA. The Vets collectively have a wealth of experience with one of them having a certificate in Medicine. There is also a supportive reception team.

The practice has recently been refurbished and is bright and modern and offers a wide range of veterinary services and facilities. The team pride themselves on teamwork and boast an excellent local reputation for veterinary care.

The practice support CPD and they would also support studies towards a certificate if the Nurse had an area of special interest. They also have a learning academy which the nurse will be able to benefit from. The role involves all aspects of general nursing and the nurse will embrace all duties that are required.

The are looking for an RVN with good all-round general nursing skills and someone who enjoys working closely within a team. They must be enthusiastic and passionate about heir work with a genuine passion for animal welfare and a driven and focused attitude.

Key Details:

  • Type: Small Animal
  • Hours: Monday - Friday
  • Weekends: 1:3 weekends
  • OOH: None
  • Sole Charge: Some from 5.30pm - 7pm
  • Computer System: RX Works
  • Consultations: 15 - 30 minutes
  • Team: 4 Vet, 3 Nurses, 1 VCA and reception team
