Professional veterinary recruitment

We are working alongside a well-established, independent small animal practice close to Exeter in Devon to recruit a permanent, full-time Veterinary Surgeon.

The practice benefits from a multi-vet team, as well as a large support staff of qualified RVNs, student nurses, animal care assistants and administrative staff.

They see a varied caseload with patients ranging from domestic dogs and cats to rabbits, birds and exotics. Previous experience of exotics cases would be advantageous.

With modern facilities the practice can provide a range of services including neutering, vaccinations, surgeries, blood tests, dental care, microchipping, x-rays, ultrasounds, DNA sexing, endoscopy and hibernation assessments.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience and be competent in surgery and medicine, with exceptional consultation and communication skills. The joining vet must be capable of working sole charge on occasion.

• Sole Charge: Yes but someone always available either at the other practice or on the phone
• Team: 3 Vets, RVN, 8 SVN, 2 ANA
• Main duties: Consulting, medical case work ups, routine surgery and some exotics would be an advantage but not vital
• Branch work: Yes
• Practice Facilities: Full hospital facilities

Package:

• Salary: 35,000 - 60,000 commensurate with experience
• 28 days holiday including bank holiday
• CPD allowance 500 - Negotiable
• RCVS & VDS fees Paid
• Pension: NEST
• Career Progression: Possibility of progressing to senior management level depending on the person
• Further study supported and encouraged

Must haves:

RCVS registered and qualified

2 years of postgraduate experience working in practice

Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom

Valid UK driving license
