Permanent Veterinary Surgeon (VETSEEK-2093)

Cardiff, South Glamorgan

Veterinary Surgeon

£35,000 - £50,000

Full time / Permanent

Job description

We are recruiting three small animal Vets to join a practice in Cardiff.

These are full time positions working 40 hours per week with no weekend or OOH.

The practices have 5 sites within the area of Cardiff including a new state of the art animal hospital. They are recruiting two permanent Vets to work across all sites where required and one senior Veterinary Surgeon to run one of their branch surgeries.

In total the practice comprises of a large team of 19 vets with numerous areas of special interest. The pride themselves on providing the best possible healthcare to patients and their owners.

All branches are fully equipped and offer a range of modern veterinary services and facilities. All include ultrasound, digital x-ray, and dental x-ray. There is also access to shared radiosurgery units. The branches are fully equipped so that they may handle their own cases from work up to finish with the additional support of the animal hospital should that be required. the Hospital has state of the art facilities including CT scanner, Endoscopy, orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries, exotic and medical referrals, dedicated dog and car wards and ICU facilities.

There is a team of OOH Vets and Nurses to cover weekends and nights, so the roles do not include weekend or OOH work. However, for Vets with an interest in emergency work then there is flexibility to join an OOH or weekend rota should they wish.

About the roles:

The two roles for the branch surgeries are to provide additional help to the team in place due to continued growth across the patch. The Vets must have at least two years' experience.

The third role is for an experienced Vet to provide a senior Vet tole at one of the branch surgeries. This is based at the busiest practice and the Vet will lead the team to ensure the day-to-day efficient running of the practice. This role is supported with a leadership team behind the vet.

For all the positions the Vets must be ambitious to expand on their clinical development. They must have excellent client facing skills and communication skills and work well as part of a wider team.
