Job description

We are recruiting for two permanent Veterinary Surgeons to join a practice in Borehamwood Hertfordshire.

The first position is for a Clinical Lead Vet and the second is for Veterinary Surgeon. Both positions are full time with a 1:2 weekend rota. There is no OOH.

This is a purpose-built modern practice with state-of-the-art facilities. the Vets would be joining a team of 1 RVN, 1 SVN, 1 VCA and supporting staff. As the practice do not currently have a Vet in the clinic this is an excellent opportunity for a brand-new Vet team to be established. For the Clinical lead this is an excellent opportunity to mould the practice and provide support and mentoring to the junior Vet along with all team members. The roles offer clinical freedom and a wide variety of cases. There is also plenty of exotic cases.

The Clinical lead role is ideal for an experienced Vet who is looking to take their next career step and the second vacancy is for a Veterinary Surgeon with a minimum of 2 years' experience. There is an element of sole charge that would be required so therefore both Vets need to be comfortable in this area and confident in routine surgeries and consultations.

  • Hours: Monday - Friday
  • Weekends: 1:2 Saturdays

  • Consultations: 15 & 30 Minutes
  • Team: 2 Vet 1 Nurses, 1 SVN and support team

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be an experience Vet looking to take the next career step into a clinical lead role.
  • You will have a minimum of two years' experience for the junior Vet position.
  • You will be confident in routine surgeries and consultations
  • You will have an approachable and caring attitude
  • You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will want to contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player

Package:

  • Salary: Up to 55,000 for Clinical Lead role and 40,000 for Junior role commensurate to experience
