Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Tunbridge Wells, Kent

We are recruiting a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a small animal practice in Tunbridge Wells.

This role is full time for 4 or 5 days per week, along with 1 in 3 weekends with time off in lieu. Part time hours can be considered. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

This is a purpose-built practice offering state of the art facilities. They are location close to the train station and transport links and offers onsite parking. This is a modern and bright practice; purpose built and comes with all the toys including a full orthopaedic kit.

The practice sees a wide variety of cases including some exotics. The team comprise of 2 vets, 4 nurses and supporting staff. One of the vets has multiple certificates and the practice also offers visiting specialists.

About the role

The practice is looking for either an experienced Veterinary Surgeon or a newly graduated Surgeon due to the level of experience in the team they can support applications from a newly graduated surgeon. An experienced vet should be confident in routine surgeries and consultations and happy with some sole charge work which will be on weekends. Areas of special interest are supported, and the Vet must have excellent client care skills and be able to work well as part of a close-knit team.

About you:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will have an approachable and caring attitude
  • You will be happy with some sole charge work
  • You will be a able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will want to contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff
  • You will be a strong team player

  • Salary: £45,000 to £70,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
