Job description

We are recruiting for a permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Taunton Somerset.

This is a full or part time role working a 1:4 weekend rota which includes a Saturday morning surgery and any urgent cases. There are often no in patients in the clinic, so the weekends do remain fairly free. There is no on call required as the practice are in the process of sourcing out OOH however they do like to remain taking care of inpatients where possible.

The role involves working between the two branches that they have and both of which have excellent transport links. The practice can offer flexible working hours and are also flexible in terms of how much time is spent in each of the practices to suit the Vet better thus offering a better work / life balance.

There is some sole charge work involved so the Vet needs to be confident in this area along with routine and emergency work.

The practice is located close to the beaches of Cornwall and comprises of a team of 4 Nurses, 2 SVNS. They have 4 Vets with special interests in exotics and soft tissue surgery.

The role will involve a mixture of both consultations and surgeries and the practice encourages and supports areas of special interests. They offer 15 minutes consultations with the last one booked 45 minutes before the end of day so the Vet can leave on time.
