We are working with an independent, small animal veterinary practice in Strathaven, Lanarkshire who are currently recruiting for a veterinary surgeon to join them on a full-time basis. The practice has had a successful 2020 and is in the process of expanding their purpose-built building, to be able to offer a wider range of services.

The role is full time and involves working 9am until 6pm during the week, as well as Saturdays 9am-3pm on a rota basis. Due to the caseload of the practice, ideally you will have an interest in canine reproduction however this is not essential.

If you are looking to relocate to the area, the practice can provide accommodation for the initial period as well as a practice vehicle.

• Type: Small animal only
• Hours Mon-Fri: 9:00am and until 6:00pm each day
• Weekends: Saturdays 9am-3pm
• OOH: None required
• Team: 4 members of staff currently
• Sole charge: Occasional work as Sole vet required, must be comfortable
• Branch work: None required

About them:

An independently owned small animal practice with a specialist interest in canine reproduction. The practice is purpose built with an in house laboratory, theatre, 2 consulting rooms, Idexx equipment, recover suite and a large reception area. The practice computer system is animana. They are in the process of expanding their current facility as well.

The Person:

They are looking for a well rounded veterinary surgeon with previous UK experience working in a small animal practice, ideally at least 3 years. You will need to be passionate, pro active and a confident veterinary surgeon. You surgical skill set will be of a good standard and you will also be confident with routine consultations.

An interest in canine reproduction would be desirable but not essential as full training provided.

The Package:

• Salary from 45,000 to 60,000 depending on experience and skills set
• CPD actively encouraged with 5 days per annum
• Quarterly bonus for staff

• RCVS, BSAVA and VDS fees paid
