Job description

We are recruiting for a permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Southend on Sea Essex.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week with a 1:3 weekend rota. There is no ooh.

The Vet will be joining a team of 3 Vets and 5 Nurses and supporting staff. This is a purpose-built practice with modern veterinary technology including Ultrasound, CT facilities, endoscopy, ECG, Laser, Digital X-ray, and an in-house laboratory.

The practice seeks a Vet who is confident in routine surgeries and consultations and someone who establishes client working relationships easily. It is important that they work well as part of the team. Within the team there are a variety of areas of special interests and the partners within the practice fully support these so if you are a Vet with a bias then this would be encouraged. There are also various training opportunities available within the role.

  • Type: Small Animal
  • Hours: Monday - Friday 40 hours per week
  • Weekends: 1:4 weekend rota
  • Sole Charge: On weekends
  • OOH: On a rota
  • Branch work: None
  • Computer System: RX Works
  • Consultations: 15 Minutes
  • Team: 3 Vet 5 Nurses and support team

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be confident in routine surgeries and consultations
  • You will have an approachable and caring attitude
  • You will have a bias which will be supported and encouraged
  • You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will want to contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player

Package:

  • Salary: 35,000 - 50,000 pro rata
