Job description

We are recruiting a Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Preston Lancaster. This is a full or part time position. The part time position involves working 22 hours per week with a 1:2 weekend rota. There is no OOH.

The practice is part of 4 practices within the local areas. They are growing and now require an additional Vet to join them. The practice has a team of 2 Vets, 2 Nurses with support staff. they have all the toys including Ultrasonography, Multi Parameter Monitoring, Dental X-Ray and Digital X-Ray.

There is a bias for orthopaedic and soft tissue cases and the practice owner would happily train the right candidate in this area if they wished. The practice shares all the surgical cases across all 4 branches. They are a professional and close-knit little group who offer plenty of support and encouragement for the right candidate.

About the role:

The practice requires a professional friendly Veterinary Surgeon who has a good level of experience in routine surgeries and consultations. There is support available for clinical development.

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be confident in all routine surgeries and consultations
  • You will have an approachable and caring attitude
  • You will be a able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will want to contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player
