Norwich, Norfolk

Veterinary Surgeon

Up to £61,469 Commensurate to experience pro rata

Full time / Permanent

Job description

We are recruiting for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a 24-hour animal hospital in Horsford Norwich. This is a full-time position with a generous 1:6 weekend rota

Ideally the Vet will have an area of specialism bias that they would like to explore but this is not essential, or they would either be studying towards a Certificate and have an interest in developing external referral and internal transfer work. The practice would consider applications for all bias including dermatology, imaging, ECC or Dentistry. An intertest in exotic medicine would be an advantage.

The Vet would be joining a large team of 7 Vets. The practice is the main hub which the surrounding branches feed into so they see an interesting amount of cases.

Benefits of the role:

The practice provides high standard of clinical care and prides themselves on having staff members who stand apart from the rest and have a real passion and vision for how they work. They provide ongoing training and support to all team members through dedicated training centres.

All staff and patients benefit from the access to the best diagnostic equipment such as MRI machines and CT scanners and state of the art operating theatres in theses practices and in this state-of-the-art Animal Hospital.

The role provides excellent learning development opportunities for the right candidate with interesting cases and working with state-of-the-art technology whilst drawing from other experienced Vets and certificate holders within the practice. It also offers the opportunity to develop areas of special interest.

Who are they looking for?

The Vet must be comfortable with routine surgeries and consultations and enjoy establishing and building working relationships with clients and colleagues. The Vet will have ambition and the motivation to progress in their clinical skills and knowledge and within a particular bias. They will be able to work up cases using standard diagnostics.
