Job description
We are recruiting for an small animal veterinary practice in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham who are looking for an additional veterinary surgeon to join their team permanently. This role is a full time and is worked over a 4 day week, working from 8:30am until 7:30pm each day with a 2 hour break in the middle of the day. The role also involves working on the 1 in 6 weekend rota, with 2 days off in the following week provided. The practice has a dedicated night team meaning no out of hours are required.
Key Job Details:
Type: Small animal only
Hours Mon-Fri: 4 day week, working from 8:30am until 7:30pm each day
Weekends: 1 in 6 weekends on a rota basis, working Saturdays & Sundays at main practice in Bishop Auckland
OOH: None required, dedicated night time at the practice
Sole charge: No sole charge work required
Branch work: Occasional shift and weekend worked at another branch
About them:
A busy small animal branch of well known practice in the local area, usually covered by a team of 2 vets and 2/3 nurses. This practice is fully equipped throughout and has 2 consulting rooms, an operating theatre, modern diagnostic equipment as well as much more. In total this practice has 17 vets working in the team, working across 3 practices within the local area. They have certificate holders, new graduates and a large nursing and support team.
The Person:
The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 2 years practice experience behind them since qualifying, as at the moment they are not able to support a new graduate. You will have a keen interest in both surgeries and consulting and have a real passion for providing a high level of care to all patients. It Is also important you have a compassionate and understand nature as well as the ability to provide a high level of customer service.
The Package:
Salary flexible between 35,000 & 60,000 per annum
1500 annual CPD allowance
Certificates fully funded if beneficial for both parties
5 weeks annual leave + bank holidays
RCVS, VDS & one more professional fee paid

Must have:
RCVS registered and qualified
