Job description

We are recruiting for a permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Merthyr Tydfil Wales

This is a full-time or part time position with no weekends and no OOH offering an excellent work life balance.

The practice is located close to the Beacons National Park and only 30 minutes away from Cardiff.

This is a forward-thinking growing practice who pride themselves on providing excellent veterinary care. Due to growth, they need an additional Vet to join their team.

They are looking for a Vet who has good general surgical experience - someone with a surgical bias would be advantageous. They must be comfortable with consultations and medical cases and confident in some sole charge work where required.

The practice strongly believes in supporting areas of special interest and the Vet will be given the opportunity to refine and develop their interests to a high level. CPD is tailored to the Vets needs.

The must have strong client facing skills and a friendly and approachable attitude.

Key Details:

  • Type: Small Animal
  • Hours: Monday - Friday full or part time hours available
  • Weekends: On a rota
  • Sole Charge: Some
  • OOH: On a rota
  • Branch work: None
  • Computer System: RX Works
  • Consultations: 15 Minutes
  • Team: 1 Vet 3 Nurses, 1 SVNs and support team

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be confident in routine surgeries and consultations
  • You will be happy with some sole charge work
  • You will have an approachable and caring attitude
  • You will have a surgical bias or have an area of special interest
  • You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will want to contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player

Package:

  • Salary: 35,000 - 50,000 pro rata commensurate to experience
