Job description

We are recruiting for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in London. This is a full-time role with a 1:3 weekend. There is also an on-call rota and bank holiday rota which is shared across all branches and this equates to 3 weeks per year and will be in the nearest animal hospital.

The practice is part of a group of 8 branches across the London area. The Vet will be working alongside one other Vet who is a certificate holder in Surgery and will have access to the expertise of numerous certificate holding surgeons across the area.

The practice is fully equipped with all the latest technology including Digital X-Ray, Dental X-Ray, Ultrasound, ECG, in house laboratory including microscope and much more.

The practice has a loyal client base and play an active role within the local community. Itprovides a high standard of clinical care and pride themselves on having staff members who stand apart from the rest and have a real passion and vision for how they work. They provide ongoing training and support to all team members through dedicated training centres. All staff also benefit from the access to the best diagnostic equipment such as MRI machines and CT scanners and state of the art operating theatres in the nearest animal hospital.

About the role

The practice is looking for a Vet who has a minimum of 1-2 years' experience. They will have solid experience within a small animal practice and will be confident in consultations and routine surgeries and happy with some sole charge work when required.

The practice pride themselves on working closely with the other branches across the area so it is important that the Vet enjoys working as part of a team in house and in terms of the wide area. Building strong relationships is key and establishing trust. There is very much a one whole team culture, so it is vital the Vet also shares this value.

They must have strong client skills and communications skills with a caring and empathetic attitude.

  • OOH: On call and bank holiday rota shared across the patch working out at 3 weeks per year which provides support to the night team at the nearest hospital

Package:

  • Salary: 36,000 - 40,000 per annum
