Job description

We have an opportunity for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon who is a certificate holder to join a 24hr animal hospital in Birstall.

The practice is looking for surgery certificate holder who can perform orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries. You must be comfortable performing TTA or TPLO surgeries and have excellent communication skills, high clinical standards and practical experience gained in a small animal practice. You will have the ability to create trusting and dependable relationships with your clients and will provide the gold standard of care to the practice's patients and clients. You will be joining a large collaborative team, with no need to work sole charge.

The role involves working full time for 35 hours per week over 4 days. Each shift is 8 hours and will fall between 9am and 7pm on an early shift and late shift rota. Although this is a 24hr practice, there will be no OOH work as this is covered by the dedicated night team.

The practices provide a high standard of clinical care and prides themselves on having staff members who stand apart from the rest and have a real passion and vision for how they work. They provide ongoing training and support to all team members through dedicated training centres.

About you

  • You will have practical experience gained in a small animal practice
  • You will have a strong bias in orthopaedic surgery
  • You will be comfortable working on surgical duties only
  • You will ideally have a bias or area of specialism that you would like to pursue
  • You will be comfortable with routine surgeries and consultations
  • You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic Surgeon
  • An interest in pursuing a certificate would be supported and encouraged
  • You will be ambitious, driven, and forward-thinking Veterinary Surgeon
  • You will set a positive working environment and lead by example

Package:

  • Salary: 65,000 to 75,000 per annum, dependant on experience
