Job description

We are recruiting for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Leeds. This role is full time for 40 hours per week over 7 days with a weekend rota.

This is an established practice which comprises of a team of 1 vet, 3 nurses and a supportive non-clinical team. It is fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including two operating theatres, pharmacy, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and an in-house laboratory. This is a dynamic team who are passionate and dedicated to providing a high standard of clinical care.

The practice is continuing to grow and are now in need of an additional vet. They particularly would encourage a vet who has an area of special interest and is ambitious to develop their skills.

You will ideally have a minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience and have a good level of medical and surgical experience. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to establish excellent working relationship with both clients and members of the team. If you have an interest in surgery or orthopaedics this will be advantageous. You will need tobe confident working sole charge as this will be required on occasion.

About You:

  • You will be competent in medical and surgical cases
  • A special interest in surgery or orthopaedics would be advantageous
  • You will have an approachable, empathetic, and caring attitude
  • You will be passionate about all aspects of your veterinary work
  • You will enjoy building up your own client base
  • You will be driven and ambitious
  • You will have ambitions to study towards a certificate
  • You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will want to contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff
  • You will be a strong team player
