Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced permanent veterinary surgeon to join a small animal, client care award winning team based in Kettering.

This is permanent, full-time position, with a 1 in 4 Saturday rota or a 1:8 weekend rota.

The practice is fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and they pride themselves on delivering high standard of clinical care. They are a forward thinking and pro-active practice. They see a busy and varies case load.

Who are they looking for:

You will be joining a supportive and established team of currently 3.5 vets to grow the team to 4.5 Vets. They also have 2 new graduate vets and 5 RVNs, student nurses and 5 lovely receptionists and in addition, benefit from regular visits from an orthopaedic surgeon who carries out TTAs and complex orthopaedic procedures. The team have a variety of individual interests with a certificate holder in Feline Medicine, a vet with special interests in Surgery and also embarking on the Dermatology Certificate, so if you have any area of particular interest, this could be the practice for you! Every member of our team genuinely cares and has the shared goal of delivering the best for their patients.

The team see a wide variety of cases and have a growing number of insured clients allowing cases, both medical and surgical, and encourage time to be taken to thoroughly investigate, work up and follow cases through to a high standard. You will be confident with routine medical and surgical cases and you will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Above all you must have excellent communication skills, enjoy clear and thorough conversations with clients and enjoy building relationships with patients, clients, and the wider team.

Key Details:

Level of experienced required: Minimum 1 year experience in the UK

Hours - Mon - Fri: 4-10hr days either 7:30am - 6:30pm or 8am-7pm

Weekend rota/hours: 1:8 full weekend (Saturday & Sunday) 1:4 6hr weekend (Saturdays)

OOH rota/Hours: Only required to cover night team

Time of in lieu: 2 days in lieu for working the full weekend

Computer system: Robovet

Branch work: This is a hospital position

Team: CD, Senior Vet (ECC certified), 1x 2yr qualified vet, 1x p/t vet & 2x new grads vets, this is at the hospital

Practice Facilities: Full lab equipment, digital X-Ray, endoscopy, laparoscopy, plus more
