Job description

We are recruiting a large animal veterinary surgeon to join our independent clients in Aberdeenshire on a full time, permanent basis. This role involves working 8:00am until 5:00pm during the week, with 1 night on call, 1 full weekend in 4 and in 1 in 8 Saturday mornings only.

This role would be suitable for a veterinary surgeon with a couple of years post graduate experience in practice, who is comfortable with all round skills and looking to develop their overall mixed veterinary knowledge. The practice are open to applications from experience small animal vets, as they can work their current team around this.

Key Details:

  • Type: Large animal
  • Hours Mon-Fri: 8:00am until 5:00pm each day (5 day week)
  • Weekends: 1 in 4 full weekends (on call) and 1 in 8 Saturday mornings only
  • OOH: 1 night on call each week and 1 in 4 weekends on call
  • Branch work: Work will be required between branches, practice vehicle provided
  • Sole charge: When comfortable, sole working will be required

About them:

An independent mixed animal practice who provide companion, farm and equine animal service all around the local area. They operate over 2 branches who are both open 6 days a week and provide a 24 hour on call service. They currently employ 11 veterinary surgeons and a large team of qualified and student nurses to support, as well as other support and admin staff. The practice's are fully equipped with the latest gear, including ultrasonography, endoscopy, in house blood analysis and Lab, orthopaedics and much more.

About You:

You will be an experienced large animal vet with a positive attitude, excellent client care skills and an evident passion for the veterinary industry.

Package:

  • Salary: Flexible for the right person, likely to be between 35,000 & 50,000 per annum
  • 20 days annual leave, plus bank holidays

Must haves:

RCVS Registered & Qualified or soon to be.

Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom.
