We are recruiting for permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join small animal practice in the beautiful West Yorkshire Town of Ilkley. This is a large established practice comprising if a highly experienced Veterinary Team of 14 Vets, 20 Qualified Nurses along with a fully complimented support team.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week over 4 days - as well as involvement on a 1 in 5 weekend and OOH rota. The nursing team take all the on call phone calls, meaning the vet can go home unless there is a call out. The practice provides a 10% bonus scheme when working any on call, meaning you will receive 10% of anything billed during your working hours.

This position would suit a candidate with a couple of years post graduate experience, who is interested in working with an experienced team and improving their skills as much as possible. The practice fully supports development with a 1750 CPD budget and full certificate support.

The practice is located right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and is only 30 minutes train journey from Leeds. So offers an excellent work 'life balance with City and Country life living.

Key Details:

Type: Small Animal only

Hours Mon-Fri: 40 hours per week, varied shifts included 9am-7pm, 8:30am-6pm and 8am-5:30pm

Weekends: 1 in 5 weekend rota. 1 weekend would be day shifts and the next night shifts

OOH: 1 weeknight per week on call

Team: 14 Vet's and 20 Nurses, as well as full support team

Consultations: 15 Minute appointments with a maximum of 3 bookings per hour

Person:

You will be a qualified veterinary surgeon with 1-2 years+ of experience working within a small animal practice. You will be hard working, enthusiastic and have a strong desire to better yourself professionally. You will realise the importance of customer service and be motivated by providing top level veterinary care.

Package:

Salary from 37,000-60,000 depending on experience & skills set

1750 CPD allowance + 5 days per annum

6.6 weeks annual leave, including bank holidays (less than 1 worked per year)

1+ years previous UK practice experience

RCVS Registered
