Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal independent practice in Haywards Heath, West Sussex for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team.

This is a full time position with a generous 1 in 6 weekend rota comprising of both Saturday and Sundays. There is one day off during the week. There is one night per week on call where the vet holds the phone and can sleep in the duty room. For a very local vet close to the practice then OOH could be manageable from home. A night nurse is also on call for support. OOH is rewarded and there is also the requirement to work one bank holiday per year and a bonus is also provided for this.

This is an independent practice which has a large supportive team of vets and nurses. They are looking for a Vet who ideally would be able to hit the ground running. Support is in place but ideally the vet would be confident in most routine surgeries.

As large independent practice with only one site they offer a comfortable and family feel working environment. No set targets, clinical freedom, and a great work-life balance.

Generous CPD package is available and support available for post graduate study towards a certificate.

About you:

  • You will ideally be competent in routine surgeries - dependent on experience support available
  • The role is determined on years of experience and be catered to suit but ultimately the Vet needs to be ambitious looking to develop clinical skills and knowledge further.
  • Ambition to progress towards post graduate study would be supported.
  • You will always deliver a high standard of clinical care
  • You will have excellent customer facing skills and enjoy establishing and building your own client base
  • You will work well within the team alongside other veterinary specialists and clinicians
  • You will be a passionate and motivated veterinary surgeon with a genuine interest for animal welfare
  • You will be ambitious to develop your clinical skill set and knowledge
  • You will enjoy working within a busy practice with a wide variety of cases

Package:

  • Salary: Starting at 40,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
