Mixed Hospital Veterinary Surgeon Position.

We are recruiting for a permanent veterinary surgeon to be within a small animal Hospital in Cheadle. This role is a combination of a mixed day and ooh role, with there being some weekday work and then night shifts on a rota.

A typical working pattern may look like a three-day week caring for inpatients at the hospital, with other weeks involving a mix of night and weekend work. The full weekend shift comprises of mixture of consultations, Surgeries and hospital work and evening shifts.

The role offers a wide variety of mixed work - day time, consultations, inpatients, surgeries, night shifts, Hospital work etc but typically no more than 4 days per week which leaves the Vet with time to pursue own interests outside of work providing an excellent work / life balance.

The practice has a team that would provide a full range of knowledge and expertise. It is also fully equipped with CT scanner, doppler echocardiography and flexible/rigid endoscopes.

Who are they looking for:

The practice requires a veterinary surgeon who has good general medical and surgical skills and who is also comfortable working sole charge on occasion at weekends. Excellent customer service skills are vital and the ability to establish good working relationships with clients, patients and fellow team members. The practice believes strongly in case continuity so the vet will be able to work up cases fully and see them from start to finish with plenty of time available to document the services provided.

The vet must be enthusiastic and passionate about their work. As a busy practice there is excellent opportunities to continue to learn and grow and areas of special interest are actively encouraged and supported.

This role is ideal for a passionate and enthusiastic experienced veterinary surgeon who is looking for the perfect balance between their veterinary work and their time off.

About You:

  • You will have a minimum of 3 years' experience
  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be confident in all areas of routine surgeries and medical cases
  • You will be happy to work sole charge
  • You will want to contribute to the practice enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player with an enthusiastic and passionate attitude

Package:

  • Salary: 45,000 - 55,000 commensurate to experience
