Job description

We are recruiting experienced Veterinary surgeons to join a charity clinic in London. The clinic provides veterinary healthcare to low income pet owners. They accept referrals from other practices across the area also to offer an alternative treatment for clients where euthanasia may have only been the option for their pet. They are looking for a experienced veterinary surgeons who have solid surgical skills, ideally with some level of orthopaedics and confident in soft tissue surgery.

Previous experience in emergency and critical care work is also required. The role is full time with ooh and a weekend rota. Weekends are usually between 1:4 and 1:5. Accommodation is provided for when the vet is on call over the weekend. Time off in lieu is given after working a weekend.

Key Details:

Type: Small Animal

Hours: Monday - Friday Clinic open between 8am - 9pm.

Weekends: 1:4

OOH: Yes on a rota

Sole Charge: Yes

Team: Multiple Vet and RVN and support team

Consultations: 15 Minutes

Other: Accommodation provided for the Vet when on call Friday night and over the weekends when on call

About them:

This is a well-established charity clinic in London who provide first class veterinary care to low income pet owners. They promote animal welfare through education and offer animal rescue services to animals in emergency situations where members of the public have called the charity. They see many challenging medical and surgical cases and are fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. It is a large three-story clinic with operating theatres and consultation rooms as well as X -Ray, Haematology, Biochemistry machines, endoscopy and dental machines.

Person:

You will always deliver a high standard of clinical care

You will be confident in soft tissue surgery with some skill in orthopaedic surgery

You will have previous experience in emergency and critical care

You will be passionate about animal welfare and want to be part of a team where you can see cases through from start to finish without financial constraints

You will want to develop your surgical and medical skills further

You will work well within the team alongside other veterinary specialists and clinicians

Facilities:

Facilities including x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, ECG, fluid therapy and blood sampling, on-site laboratory.

The clinic has a modern, well-equipped operating theatres available for procedures where the utmost cleanliness is needed and cater for more complex medical and surgical cases

Package:

Salary 30,000 - 50,000 dependent on experience
