Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Bristol, Bristol

  • Would you like a salary up to £60,000 pro rata per annum commensurate to experience?

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Bristol, Gloucestershire for a full time Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This is a consulting only role offering between a 3-5 day working week between 9am and 3pm. There are no weekends required unless the Vet would like to take part in the weekend emergency team.

The role

  • Full or part time - 3 - 5 days per week. 9am - 3pm. No weekends and no OOH.
  • Consulting only role.
  • Flexible rota is available however mornings are required.
  • Further coaching and development is available and certificates are funded. The current team are happy to train others in hospital work, ultrasound, dentistry or surgery etc. They have a team of certificate holding surgeons and other surgeons currently studying towards certificates.
  • Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work / life balance. EG Rota to work around the school run / holidays /lifestyle.
  • The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
  • The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.

About them:

  • Small Animal Hospital 1st opinion and referral.
  • Large team of 10 Vets, including certificate holding surgeons along with a large supportive nursing team and non-clinical team.
  • They fully equipped with diagnostics including CT, endoscopy, MRI, ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray, in house laboratory anaesthetic monitoring equipment and separate dog and cat kennel.
  • The practice support further education so there is support available for a Vet who would like to specialise in a certain area or develop surgical and ultrasound skills.
  • The pride themselves on offering case continuity and maintaining strong clients relationships.
  • They support personal development with a generous CPD allowance and encourage and support certificates and additional training.
  • The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.

  • Wellbeing is important within the practice and they ensure that all the team have their lunch breaks and are able to leave on time. They allocate time for administration tasks within the rota to allow for a supportive culture.

  • The practice are looking for a Vet who enjoys consulting. The Vet will enjoy both the emergency and routine side of consulting. They will easily build rapport with clients and have an empathetic attitude.
  • The Vet will be confident in both routine and more complex appointments.
  • The vet will have excellent communications skills and a compassionate attitude along with excellent client facing skills.
  • The Vet will work well as part of a team.

Package

  • Salary: Up to £60,000 pro rata per annum commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave incl bank holidays increasing with service and birthday off
