Job description

We have an opportunity for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Boston.

The practice is home to a small, committed clinical team. The practice is looking for a veterinary surgeon who has excellent communication skills, high clinical standards and the ability to create trusting relationships with the clients. You will be able to deal with consultations confidently in order to provide the gold standard of care to the practice's patients and clients and to ensure the practice runs smoothly. You will be confident working sole charge as this will be a required aspect of the role on occasion.

The role involves working full time or part time for 39 hours over up to 4 days per week. The role will also involve 1 in 3 half weekends or 1 in 6 full weekends. There will be no OOH work and no on-call.

About you

  • You will have at least 1 year practical experience gained in a small animal practice
  • You will have a strong bias in orthopaedic surgery
  • You will be comfortable working on surgical duties only
  • You will ideally have a bias or area of specialism that you would like to pursue
  • You will be comfortable with routine surgeries and consultations
  • You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic Surgeon
  • An interest in pursuing a certificate would be supported and encouraged
  • You will be ambitious, driven, and forward-thinking Veterinary Surgeon
  • You will set a positive working environment and lead by example
  • You will enjoy mentoring and coaching others and sharing knowledge and experience
  • You will have a calming approach when dealing with a busy practice environment
  • You will be passionate and dedicated to providing excellent clinical care

Package:

  • Salary: 36,000 to 55,000 per annum, dependant on experience
  • Holiday allowance: 5 weeks plus bank holidays pro rata
