Job description

Our small animal clients with branches in East Manchester are currently recruiting for a veterinary surgeon to join there team permanently. Due to the strength in the team, they are open to recently graduated candidates, those with a few years experience or a candidate looking for a senior role.

This is a full-time position working 4 days per week with a 1 in 8 weekend rota comprising of both days 9:00am until 3:00pm and a 2 in 8 Saturday morning rota 9am - 1pm.

The practice are willing to be flexible on discussing part time hours too and would consider you apply with the view to discussing this.

About the role:

The practice has a large veterinary team comprising of 10 Vets which is split across its 4 sites. They have a range of specialist interests and 4 of them are certificate holders and 2 more are currently undertaking a certificate. They also have a visiting orthopaedic surgeon who comes twice a month.

With the large highly experienced team the role offers the surgeon opportunities to further their career by developing their clinical skill set and knowledge and work towards a certificate. They offer an excellent work / life balance with a generous weekend rota and no ooh. A competitive package is also available with 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. Certificates and CPD are actively encouraged and funded.

Key Details:

Type: Small Animal only

Hours Mon-Fri: 4-day week, working 8am until 6pm OR 9am until 7pm

Weekends: 1 in 8 full weekend rota (9am-3pm both days) and 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota

Lieu: Time off on lieu after working a Saturday

OOH: None required (outsourced)

Sole Charge: None required

Team: Large multi vet and nurse team along with support staff

Consultations: 15 Minute appointments

Salary from 35,000-60,000 per annum

5 weeks plus bank holidays (if working bank holiday then a day off in lieu)

CPD is very much encouraged and funded - 1000 plus per year and 3 days paid allowance OR funding towards a beneficial certificate.
