Job description

We are recruiting for a permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Altrincham.

This position offers a Vet to work around school or childcare as the working hours are flexible.

The practice works a 4-day week from 9am - 7pm. They are opened on a weekend and there is a 1:3 rota in place. Saturdays are 9am - 6pm and Sundays are 10.30am - 4.30pm. After working a weekend then the Vet finishes at 2pm the following Thursday so to have a long weekend which provides an excellent work / life balance. There is a small element of sole charge, but this is on weekends only. There is no ooh.

The practice is a modern purpose-built clinic which offers a wide variety of veterinary services and facilities.

About the role

The Vet would be joining another Vet who is the owner of the practice along with 4 RVNS, 1 SVN, VCA and reception team. The RVNS are utilised to their full potential and perform consultations and schedule three procedures. The practice sees a variety of cases and they perform a range of in house orthopaedics in the clinic including TTAs. They are wanting to expand their surgical services.

The practice is looking for a Vet that will provide support to the whole team. A vet that enjoys all aspects of general practice. The hours are flexible, and this can be discussed in interview. The role will involve supporting less experienced members of the team and dealing with challenging clinical cases. It is important that they have a calming approach to ensure a happy working environment for all.

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be confident in routine surgeries and consultations
  • You will be happy with some sole charge work on weekends
  • You will have an approachable and caring attitude
  • An area of special interest would be advantageous
  • You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will want to contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player

  • Salary: 35,000 - 45,000 pro rata
