Job description

We are recruiting a Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Altrincham. This is a full or part time position. The full-time position is working 4 x 10 hour shifts 9am - 7pm and a 1:3 weekend comprising of 15 hours. Part time hours are negotiable.

This is a purpose-built practice located just off a major motorway and with easy access to Manchester City Centre and the beautiful Peak District!

The practice has state of the art facilities including Digital X-ray, Ultrasound, and a in house laboratory. They comprise of a team of 2 Vets, 3 Nurse and a support team. One of the Vets has a certificate in Surgery.

About the role

They are looking for an experience Veterinary Surgeon to work either full or part time hours. The weekend rota involves sole charge work, so it is important that the Surgeon is comfortable in this area. They have a large busy caseload at the practice which means they can accommodate a Vet with a Cert AVP. The can purchase new equipment to support this and also will allow them to clinically lead should they wish. The Vet must be confident in routine surgeries and consultations and work well as part of a team. Generous package available commensurate to experience.

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be confident in routine surgeries, consultations, interpreting results and ultrasound
  • A Cert AVP would be advantageous
  • You will have an approachable and caring attitude
  • You will be happy with some sole charge work
  • You will be a able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will want to contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player

Package:

  • Salary: 35,000 - 50,000 pro rata
