An independent, family owned small animal and equine practice in Walsall are recruiting 1 permanent small animal, full-time veterinary nurses to join their team, due to a ever-expanding caseload.

Whilst this is a small animal position as they are also an equine practice so a nurse with an interest in equine would be advantageous but not essential.

This role is full-time, working 38 hours a week Monday - Friday. There is one night a week on call and a 1 in 4 weekend on call, but all cover is done from home, unless they have inpatients. Part-time hours are negotiable.

Our client has their own in-house laboratory that allows us to diagnose many conditions rapidly and in many cases the same day the tests are taken. Laboratory equipment includes:

• Recently purchased Biochemistry and Haematology machine
• Microscopes
• Refractometer
• Centrifuge
• Glucometer
• Digital X-RAYS
• ECG
• Ultrasound
• Dentistry
  
• Orthopaedic
• Purpose built operating theatre
• Separate surgical preparation area
• Piped oxygen gas
• Three operating tables
• Anaesthetic monitoring equipment -Blood pressure monitoring, pulse oximeter, ECG
• Fracture repair kit including intramedullary pins and bone plating kit
• Digital radiography for intraoperative radiographs
• Modern ultrasound Machines with Doppler capability
• In house laboratory for pre-anaesthetic bloods

Person:

• You will always deliver a high standard of clinical care
• You will be competent in all areas of general nursing
• You will have excellent customer facing skills
• You will be a "team player" with a relaxed easy-going friendly attitude
• You will be a passionate and motivated veterinary nurse with a genuine interest for animal welfare

Package:

• Salary: Up to 25,000 DOE
