Job description
We are recrutiing for a permanent Head Veterinary Nurse to join a practice close to Southgate London.
This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week with a 1:6 weekend rota. The weekend rota will be at the nearest animal hospital along with the shared regional OOH and bank holiday rota.
The HVN would be joining a practice comprising of 2 Vets, 1 SVN and 1 PCA.
The practices provide a high standard of clinical care and pride themselves on having staff members who stand apart from the rest and have a real passion and vision for how they work. They provide ongoing training and support to all team members through dedicated training centres. All staff also benefit from the access to the best diagnostic equipment such as MRI machines and CT scanners and state of the art operating theatres in their nearest state of the art Animal Hospital.
About the role
The role involves all aspects of general nursing including training and mentoring others and a mixture of both clinical and admin work. The HVN will receive support from the head office in terms of rota management and recruitment and HR queries enabling enabling them to continue with plenty of the clinical work that they love and manage a team.
The HVN will have previous experience working within a small animal practice and have be ambitious to progress further. The role offers the opportunity for them to develop nurse clinics and play an integral part pf the development of the practice.
Responsibilities will include
- Clinical coaching & supporting staff
- Training of PCAs
- General nursing duties
- Working closely alongside the lead Vet surgeon in managing the practice
- Ensuring practice protocols and polices are adhered to each day

About you
- You must have a friendly and compassionate attitude and be always approachable

- Previous leadership experience would be advantageous but not essential
- You will have clinical coaching experience or be looking to become a clinical coach

Package:
- Salary: 27,543 - 28,635 per annum
