Job description

We are recruiting for a small animal practice on the outskirts of Norwich for a new Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team.

This is a full-time role offering a 40-hour working week with a generous 1:4 weekend rota. The practice can consider applications from part time Nurses.

The practice is located just outside of the lovely City of Norwich. It is a bright modern and spacious practice which comes with all the toys including endoscopy, digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound etc. They see a variety of cases and have a special interest in exotics and have a dedicated ward for this.

They practice provide a high standard of clinical care and pride themselves on having staff members who stand apart from the rest and have a real passion and vision for how they work. They provide ongoing training and support to all team members through dedicated training centres.

All staff also benefit from the access to the best diagnostic equipment such as MRI machines and CT scanners and state of the art operating theatres in their nearest state-of-the-art Animal Hospital.

Who are they looking for

The role involves working as part of a busy team but also sometimes the RVN will have to work alone so it is important that they are confident in this area. They will have a friendly and flexible approach and will offer and be happy to lend a hand to any task. The RVN will be responsible for a wide variety of nursing duties, and they also will be expected to share best practice ideas with the team and provide support and mentoring to student nurses.

As the practice have a special interest in exotics and have a dedicated exotics ward, they are looking for someone who has a keen interest in exotics however the RVN does not have to have previous experience in this area. Full support is provided for the role and there is also an in-house training programme to provide additional training and support.

About you

  • You will have a good amount of small animal nursing experience in all aspects of nursing
  • You must have a friendly and compassionate attitude and be approachable
  • You will develop and enjoy running nurse clinics
  • You will be ambitious to continue with further education and training
  • You will have clinical coaching experience or be looking to become a clinical coach
  • You will be forward thinking, motivated, passionate with a genuine interest in animal welfare
  • You must be motivated and passionate about your work and share this and promote this ethos with other members of staff
  • You will enjoy working as part of a team
  • You will have a genuine passion for animal welfare
  • You will consistently deliver a high standard of clinical care

Package:

  • Salary: Up to 24,565 per annum Commensurate to experience
