Consulting Nurse position.

We are recruiting for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join a small animal hospital in Birstall Leicester. This is a Consulting Registered Nurse position. It is full time with a 40 hour week and a shared weekend and bank holiday rota.

The practice provides a high standard of clinical care and pride themselves on having staff members who stand apart from the rest and have a real passion and vision for how they work. They provide ongoing training and support to all team members through dedicated training centres. All staff also benefit from the access to the best diagnostic equipment such as MRI machines and state of the art operating theatres.

The role involves a busy caseload and offers the RVN the opportunity to develop and grow nurse clinics. The RVN will be involved with the medical and surgical case load ensuring that their clinical skills and knowledge are utilised to their full potential whilst also offering further development opportunities.

Who are they looking for:

The practice is looking for an experienced confident RVN who is passionate about Veterinary care. The RVN must have previous experience of working in a small animal practice. They must have a friendly and positive attitude and be able to work well with others. Excellent communication and customer service skills are et along with a positive and friendly attitude. Ultimately you will be looking for a role where you expand your knowledge and clinical skill set.

Duties:

The role involves all aspects of nursing and includes working closely with the veterinary surgeons in the practice as well as performing nursing duties. The RVN will be involved in administering treatments and medications, performing diagnostic tests, assisting in surgeries, running nurse clinics and providing advice to clients. There is also the opportunity to work as a clinical coach so the RVN can use their knowledge and experience to help train and support SVNs in the future.
