Job description

We are recruiting for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join a 24hr veterinary hospital in Leeds.

The hospital is a purpose-built 24hr practice with state-of-the-art facilities. They provide additional support to 15 practices across the West Yorkshire region so referral work, ECC work and in-patient care is part of the role.

About the role

They are looking for a nurse who has excellent technical skills and has previous experience of working within a busy practice environment. All the nurses are trained in every element of the role so they would be responsible for a wide variety of duties from assisting in theatre, administering medications to discharges.

The Nurse must be confident in placing catheters, administering, and monitoring anaesthesia. The role also involves nurse consultations so the nurse will be dealing regularly with clients and offering advice, so it is important that they have excellent communication skills and be able to build good working relationships.

This role is full time for 40 hours per week over 4 days between 7:30am and 8:30pm, along with 1 in 4 weekends. The nurse will have the same day off each week. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.
