Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for q Registered Night Veterinary Nurse to join an independent practice in Haywards Heath West Sussex.

This is a large supportive practice with a large team of Vets and Nurses.

They are looking for a permanent Nurse to join their night team. These are sleeping shift positions working on a 7 night on and 7 night off basis. The RVNS would be responsible for some tasks such as kits when they arrive on shift and work up until mid night and then are able to go to bed usually until around 6.30am unless they get a call for themselves and a vet. They will be responsible for in patient care throughout the night. The RVNs would sleep at the practice for the 7 nights and would also be the back up cover from 8am - 5pm Saturday and Sunday for the weekend nurse however this is very rare.

This is an established independent practice and are also proud to be a nurse training practice so it would be advantageous for the nurses to be clinical coaches. The ambition to become a clinical coach would also be welcome.

The Person:

  • The practice can support an experienced Nurse or a newly graduated Nurse
  • It is essential the Nurse is a team player and works well as part of a team with no blame culture
  • They will enjoy and embrace all aspects of the role
  • They will have sound knowledge of all aspects of RVN duties and responsibilities - for more experienced RVNs
  • They will have excellent communication skills.
  • They will have excellent client care skills and be able to build client relationships easily.
  • They will remain calm under pressure and be able to multitask where appropriate
  • They will have an enthusiastic and motivated attitude with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
