Job description
We are working with an independent first opinion small animal practice in in Harlow, Essex. My client is currently recruiting for either a student nurse or qualified veterinary nurse to join them on a full time, permanent basis but will consider part-time for the right candidate. The role involves working 40 hours per week, with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings as well as being involved with the 2 in 5 weekends at the moment but this will reduce.
Key Details:
Hours - Mon - Fri: 40, mixed shifts (8-5, 11-8, night shift 7pm -11am - sleep overnight when not busy - Nurses generally get minimum of 4 hours sleep on shift.
Weekend rota/hours: 2 in 5 at present. Combination of days and nights, emergencies and inpatient care only from 1pm Saturdays.
OOH rota/Hours: 12 hour day / night shifts
Time of in lieu: yes plus overtime
Computer system: Robovet
Branch work: No
Team: 6 vets, 7 RVN, 2 SVN, 2 VCA

The Person:
They are looking for a compassionate, hardworking, and reliable veterinary nurse whose passion for the industry is clear with everything they do. The nursing team are very experienced who are all encouraged to perform schedule 3 procedures where possible.
The Package:
Salary: 22- 26k DOE
CPD Allowance: Flexible
Holiday Allowance: 25 days pro rata plus bank holidays
Sick Pay: 7 days paid per annum pro rata
Career Progression: yes
Fees Paid: No but very generous staff discount (no professional fees and cost price medications for any treatment for staff animals)
Pension: yes

Must have:
RCVS registered and qualified
Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
