Job description

Our clients in Grimsby, North Lincolnshire are currently recruiting for a small animal veterinary nurse to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. This role would involve working with a strong team of nurses to provide a very high standard of care to their existing and new clients on a regular basis.

The position involves working 40 hours per week between the hours of 9:00am and 8:00pm each day.

Key Details:

Type: Small animal only

Hours Mon-Fri: 40 hours per week, shifts between 9:00am & 8:00pm

Weekends: Saturdays are 9:00am-4:30pm and Sundays 9:30am-4:00pm. 1 in 13 full weekends on a rota, which include being on call Saturday & Sunday nights. 1 in 13 Saturdays only will also be worked on the rota.

Sole charge: Not required, large team of nurses

OOH: None required during the week (weekend on call only)

Team: 7 Vets, 12 Nurse & support staff

Branch work: Occasional shift may be required at a local branch

Time of in lieu: All weekend days will be given as time of in lieu

Main duties: General nursing duties, theatre nurse, in patient care, laboratory work and nurse consultations (post COVID)

About them:

A busy small animal practice in Grimsby who operate out of a large practice with 2 local branches nearby for consultations and some surgeries. The practice is well established within the local community and tend to keep most cases in house, without referring elsewhere. They have a host of equipment which includes MRI, CT orthopaedic surgery, radiography, ultrasound scanning and a full in house lab.

The Person:

You will be a qualified veterinary nurse with experience working within the UK

You will have excellent all-round nursing skills

You will be self-motivated with a genuine passion for animal welfare

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to develop working relationships with clients and team members

The Package:

Salary to be confirmed (19,000-24,000 as a guide)

33 days annual leave (including bank hols)

CPD encouraged, 2 days per year

Sick pay after first years service

Paid professional memberships

Must have:

RCVS registration

The right to work in the United Kingdom

Excellent customer service and communication skills
