Job description

We are recruiting for a Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a practice in Edinburgh Scotland. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week with a 1:3 weekend rota. There is no ooh.

The Nurse will be joining a large supportive team comprising of 3 RVNS, 2 SVNS and 5 Vets. This is a busy and established practice which is fully equipped and offers a wide range of veterinary services and facilities. they are continuing to grow and develop and now seek an additional nurse to join them.

Duties and responsibilities include

  • Working closely alongside the HVN
  • Following practice protocols
  • Keeping records up to date and recording results
  • Client consultations, administrations, and discharges
  • Administering medications
  • Stock control
  • Greeting clients and patients
  • Assisting Veterinary Surgeons in theatre
  • Insurance work
  • The Nurse will be proactive and embraces all aspects of the role.

They are looking for a nurse who has a flexible and pro-active approach to daily tasks and a nurse who can use their own initiative. Previous experience in clinical coaching would be advantageous but not essential. They Nurse will have a friendly and empathetic attitude with clients and be professional and supportive. It is important that they have the drive and ambition to continue to develop their clinical skills and knowledge and support others where necessary. The nurse will be expected to work closely with the head nurse and always look at continuing ways to develop the practice further. They will have a genuine passion for animal welfare and be committed to delivering a high standard of clinical care. They will be a team player with excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Consultations: 15 - 30 minutes
  • Team: 5 Vets 3 Nurses 2 SVNS and support team
